I know it has taken quite a while for me to post this, it's been almost a month, but it was because I didn't have any pictures. This triathlon was done by all four of us (Holley, James, Andy and I) so there was no one to document until Heidi saved the day by taking a few pics with her iphone. Thank you Heidi.
On June 27 we all decided to the competitive wave of the Lake Padden Triathlon. The race was a .5 mile swim, 21 mile bike and a 5.2 mile run.
Here is a shot towards the lake after the first couple of swim waves have started.

James is up and out of the water with a smoking time of 10 minutes 41 seconds.

Holley is out with a personal best of 15 minutes 48 seconds. Andy (not pictured) was just in front of Holley with a time of 14 minutes 58 seconds.

Here is Holley taking off on her bike. She biked the 21 miles in 1 hour 11 minutes and 58 seconds, James biked it in 1 hour 1 minute 17 seconds, and Andy in 1 hour 4 minutes and 43 seconds.

James flying into the run transition.

James on the run. He did the 5.2 mile run in 34 minutes 18 seconds.

Here is Holley coming into the run transition.

And she is heading out on her run. She did a great job running it in 52 minutes 37 seconds.

Andy flew by in a time of 31 minutes 49 seconds.

The all important high five.

A successful day at the triathlon. James finished with a overall time of 1 hour 48 minutes 49 seconds placing him 18th overall. Andy finished with an overall time of 1 hour 55 minutes 6 seconds placing him 34th overall.

Holley finished with an overall time of 2 hours 23 minutes 53 seconds. Great job everyone on a wonderful start to the tri racing season!

At the end of the race there was a competition to win a wetsuit. The idea was to swim, with a noodle, around two posts in the water.

See those posts? They had to swim around those and head for shore.

And the winner?? Yep, a Mr. James Steller. You may recall him, he was in 18th place in the race and husband to Holley. He won what he thought was going to be a wetsuit for himself but it ended up not fitting, so Holley was the lucky recipient of a fabulous new Orca wetsuit.
