Genes

You know when you see your child do something or say something and you realize that they are acting/saying just what you do? Sometimes it can be great and other times you just cringe, knowing full well that you had no intention of passing that on.

Well my daughter apparently has taken after me, in a small, yet very damaging way (at least to her). This is the picture of her shortly after she decided to take her little ride-on dump truck and drive it and her down our back deck stairs. She landed in the rocks (had to pick some little ones out of her mouth) and luckily didn't hit the big rock too hard (that is the largest mark on her head).

This is what she looked like today when we had to go out. It looks better on camera than it does in person. We are very lucky. It could have been much worse.I know she watches the boys and wants to do everything that they do. I think this was an attempt to follow in their footsteps. Not only that but by the end of yesterday she had hit her head on the floor no less than 5 times. Once she miscalculated where the door jam was and bounced off and fell to the floor hitting her head. Another time she was sitting on her rocking giraffe, attempted to reach something on the floor, and tipped the whole thing over hitting her head yet again. Those are the instances that I can remember. It was that kind of day.

For those of you who know, I was quite accident prone too. I had a dumpster lid fall on me and break my nose, got my bare foot caught in the spokes of a bike and it shaved the bottom of my foot from my heel to almost my toes, flew over the handle bars of my bike while riding and cut open my eyebrow, lip, elbow, and knee, to name just a few accidents. This is NOT something I would want to pass onto my children. My mother is getting her payback.
