A few days before Ayden's birthday (and doctor check-up) she managed to give herself a black eye. She and Tate were running around our 'circle' (from the dining room to the kitchen) and Ayden managed to get going too fast and ran head-on into our table. The table, we have now learned, is exactly at the height of Ayden's eyebrow. She hit it so hard it was instantly purple. (I think she did this in an attempt to match her 'purple party'). The fortunate part about this whole thing was that because she hit her eyebrow the black portion of her eye was all on her eyelid and not below so that for the most part (unless she closed her eyes) you couldn't tell she had the black eye.
She had some swelling, but not too bad. (I should have taken a picture of Sarah Beth, Ayden's friend, who, a couple of days before Ayden's incident, gave herself a black eye. SB's really showed because it was all below her eye and made her look like she was in a prize fight).
As you can see from this first picture, when her eyes were open you couldn't tell she had done anything. I was so thankful for this because a couple of days after this incident she had a doctor's appointment and he didn't even notice.

It was after she closed her eyes that you could see her 'black' eye.

She looked a little like she was wearing purple eye shadow on one eye!

Why is does something like this always happen before a birthday???

Black eye or not she is a CUTIE!!! Just thankful she wasn't about 2 inches taller, might have been a different story.
Love your homepage pic of the kids.
That's my girl: matching the theme in everyway possible!
