Ok, so I'm trying to get these blogs done! This happened a week ago already! (It really has been a long week)
Last Tuesday Tate and Grant had a trip to the fire station. This was by far the best fire station field trip I've ever been on!
They took the kids into the conference room where they saw a short movie and asked questions. Here they all are watching the movie intently:

Then they got to go outside and put out a fire with the fire hose! First one fire fighter started a fire on this little house.

And then each child got to turn on the hose and put out the fire! They had such a good time and they were so good that they got to do it twice!

Here they are waiting in line to put out the fire.

Then we all went inside to see the trucks and watch the fire fighter put on all of his gear (70+ pounds of it)

The fire fighter put on all of his gear and crawled on the floor to show all the kids not to be scared of him. No one would touch him.

The kids got to try on the gear also. It took quite some convincing and Holley taking quick pictures to get these two shots:

What a neat field trip. Such hands on, to put out a real fire (twice even.) You could tell by the pictures that no one lost their attention of the lessons learned. I bet everytime the kids see a fire now they will think of this field trip and what they learned. The picture of the kids sharing a chair is adorable.
